On the 18th of September, 2024, the residents of Chung Hok House were glowing with the festive spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival. This cherished event, also known as the Moon Festival, brings together families and communities, and though miles away from their homeland, the residents of Chung Hok House gathered to honour this beloved tradition.
Pine Court Housing Association was thrilled to host the celebration, which was especially meaningful for all involved. To bring a taste of tradition, Pine Court provided moon cakes, a variety of fruits, drinks, and a delicious Chinese meal—each element a nod to the festival’s rich culture.
The Mid-Autumn Festival, celebrated when the moon is at its fullest and brightest, symbolizes well-being and family reunion in Chinese culture. For many residents, this celebration was more than just a communal gathering; it was a moment of deep cultural connection and a reminder of the joys of their homeland. The smiles and laughter filling the room reflected the success of the event in lifting spirits and celebrating together as a Pine Court family.
