In partnership with The Florrie, Pine Court Housing Association recently donated pallets of food and Christmas treats to local families as part of their commitment to create inclusive and diverse communities.
As members of Black Minority Ethnic (BME) National, Pine Court Housing Association is the leading social housing provider for the Chinese community in Merseyside. Donations made by the housing association will work to enhance the quality of life for their customers and the neighbourhoods in which they live.
Food poverty and issues facing local communities have been exacerbated since COVID-19 with the Trussel Trust reporting an average 47 per cent increase in the number of emergency food parcels needed across the UK from April to September of this year.
Established over 130 years ago, The Florence Institute for Boys (better known as The Florrie) currently operates as a social and educational hub for the people of south Liverpool. In the lead up to Christmas, The Florrie is hoping to deliver around 1,000 hot meals and 350 special food hampers to families throughout Liverpool.

We would like to once again thank Pine Court Housing Association for their generous donation to The Florrie and helping us to deliver hot meals and food hampers to Liverpool residents this Christmas.

It’s our hope that these donations will provide much needed help during these difficult times to those in the community who are most vulnerable.
In addition, Pine Court Housing Association also delivered boxes of Christmas biscuits to residents at their retirement housing scheme, Chung Hok House. Featuring 38 self-contained flats and bi-lingual housing staff, Chung Hok House enables residents to live fulfilling lives in a dementia-friendly environment without having to worry about being alone or unable to cope.
